About me

Hello! I’m Kristin Hammack. I have been working alongside families, children, teens, and adults for nearly ten years. My journey in behavior intervention and special education has been both rewarding and transformative. My work began as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing relationship-based behavior therapy. I had the privilege of working in homes, schools, and communities, teaching and applying skills to meet the unique needs of each client and family.

During this time, I learned the importance of staying current with the latest research in Applied Behavior Analysis and applying evidence-based practices in a way that is flexible and individualized- because not one size fits all. It was here that I truly developed my ability to adapt to any situation, fostering creativity, and quick-problem solving along the way.

A turning point in my career came when I worked at a non-public, therapy-based school for neurodivergent learners. In collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and alike, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and truly gifted teachers and mentors, I gained valuable insights and skills from a multidisciplinary team. This experience was instrumental in shaping my approach to behavior intervention and educational support for the future.

Eventually, I left Marin County and worked further south- San Francisco, where I had the privilege of working alongside experts in the education of students and teens facing challenges such as Dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, and mental health. During this time, I was mentored by the founder of Tattum Reading, undergoing weekly training, observations, and co-teaching lessons. I was later certified in Tattum’s phonics program.

Today, I am the proud owner of NurtureNHand: Tutoring and Behavior Coaching, where I focus on providing individualized support for neurodivergent individuals and their families. As a mother to a beautiful seven-year-old daughter, Anina, I am grounded in the balance of family life and professional passion. My work spans Sonoma, Marin, and San Francisco counties, where I travel to my clients’ homes, providing specialized support tailored to their needs. I also work virtually!

In addition to my background in behavior therapy, I am trained in PEERs Curriculum, Circles Curriculum, and the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system. I’ve developed and led social (and emotional) skills, living skills, and executive functioning skills groups, as well as media literacy classes—all with a focus on empowering individuals to thrive in their unique learning environments and their world.

As a neurodivergent professional, I bring both personal and professional experience to my work. I understand the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals and their families, and I am passionate about offering support that is compassionate, research-based, and highly individualized.

If you or someone you know is seeking guidance or support, I would be honored to connect with you.
